Important Announcement: After 10 beautiful years, The Red Oak Bakery is closed. The house is under contract, and will soon pass into new hands. It sat idle 10 years before we snatched it up and gave it a new life, and now another family will give it its next chapter. “All things must pass.”
We’ve said good bye twice before, not because we were fickle, but because artisan food business remains an incredible challenge. You give it everything you have and it still takes more than that. We came back twice because of our incredible customers, and because we did genuinely love the work. We feel we got in at the tail end of a time where it was still possible for a family of three, and stellar employees, to serve thousands of people scratch-made gluten-free goods baked in a small house kitchen, and we were so lucky to get that chance. Our customers are the very best customers anyone could ask for.
I’m not done baking, and I hope to find a space from which to give classes or bake for a market soon enough. But for now, please know you made an incredible impact on my life. Thank you for everything.
