We are back for a special Sunday service! Join us September 27 to celebrate the end of summer (or at least we hope- we are so over the heat).
Chef Brian created a seven-course tasting menu featuring plant-based dishes for our vegans (and omnivores, alike). We are also hearing rumors of old favorites making their return for this night only!!! Kenzie has carefully chosen vegan w**e pairings and built cocktails to complement.*** We are excited to share what we have been working on.
Our doors will open at 6:00 that evening, with additional two-hour time slots at 7:30 and 8:45. Tickets are available through the link in our bio. See you then!
*** Drink package is an add-on and is not included in main ticket price.

HEY YALL! We can’t wait to see everyone on Sunday. The support has been overwhelming. *Menu details are listed in the comments!*
Some things to note: this is a sell-out event. there is no guarantee that we can feed everyone, so come early! we are expecting a pretty long line. We recommend bringing lawn chairs if you don’t want to stand the entire time. bar will be opening at 4 in our dining room. We will be taking food orders at our outdoor counter. Parking in our lot is welcome, but limited. Y’all are always welcome to park in the dirt lot on the corner of Hackberry + Houston or on the street. Please bear with us, as this is something we have never done before.
Thanks to Reese Bros Barbecue for being incredibly down to work with us on this. We have been wanting to throw this event for so long. We love spending our sunday afternoons with them, so this just made sense.
A huge thank you to Black Laboratory Brewing for putting up with us. If you sit on their side of the patio PLEASE BE COURTEOUS!
Ryann aka Miss Wilson County will be providing us with the best backyard bbq music y’all have ever laid ears on. yeeehaaaawwwww.
LASTLY, afterparty at Chiflada’s Cocktail Bar for Sunday karaoke service.

This one has been in the chamber for a minute. Chef Brian has been itching to work with his estranged Reese Bros brethren from his first visit to the Meat Church ™️ and it’s finally here. Two titans of the east side joining forces for an evening of smoke and satiation. Chef Reese will be rinsing a couple Reese Bros staples thru the Magpie filter, as well as some original dishes, paired with a bunch of one off pet nat pours and low proof cocktails formulated to keep you in the game after taking lbs of smoked meat to the dome. This is a sell out counter service event. Service will be fast and furious with a touch of the trademark Magpie chaos. We recommend getting there early, as we expect the queue to form early. We kindly ask no scalpers or to-gos out of respect for everyone waiting in line. RSVP through our Tock reservation system (in bio), RSVP doesn’t guarantee a plate but will help us hopefully prep enough food to feed all in attendance. We look forward to Dartying with y’all!

What people say
The Magpie, located on E Houston Street in San Antonio, is a new American restaurant that offers a unique and freestyle dining experience curated by chef Sue Kim. With its inviting atmosphere and delicious food, The Magpie has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
One of the standout features of The Magpie is their commitment to providing exceptional meals made entirely from scratch. This dedication is evident in their Thanksgiving To-Go offering, where they offer a complete feast for two people. From the deboned Roast Turkey with butter and fresh herbs to the luxuriantly-refined Turkey Gravy made from house-made stock, every dish is crafted with care and attention to detail. The stuffing, made from Magpie Milk Bread, adds a delightful twist to the traditional Thanksgiving meal. And let's not forget about the Robuchon-style Mashed Potatoes whipped to absolute smoothness with butter or the roasted root vegetables served with gremolata and Magpie Romesco sauce. The Cranberry and Sour Cherry dressing adds a tangy and flavorful touch to the meal. To top it all off, The Magpie offers a whole Pecan Pie with a 100% butter crust that will satisfy any sweet tooth.
Aside from their Thanksgiving offerings, The Magpie also hosts special events like their rare Sunday dinner service on Christmas Eve. This event invites everyone to join their commiserative Magpie family in raising a glass to the spirit of universal humbuggery while enjoying delicious food amidst twinkling lights. In addition to their regular menu, guests can indulge in nog and a delightful holiday punch. It's an opportunity for Grinches to feel right at home while Santa fits are optional but encouraged.
The Magpie's commitment to quality extends beyond just their food offerings. They create an ambiance that enhances the dining experience by playing Christmas music non-negotiable during their special events. This attention to detail creates a warm and festive atmosphere that adds to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Whether you're looking for a special holiday feast or a unique dining experience, The Magpie on E Houston Street is the place to go. With their freestyle kitchen and chef Sue Kim's culinary expertise, you can expect nothing but exceptional food and an unforgettable dining experience.
