Filipino Hacks Ep. 14: HOW TO MAKE SINIGANG TASTE LIKE IT’S FROM LOLA’S KITCHEN
Nothing beats the comforting taste of homemade Sinigang 🍲❤️
Here’s a simple Filipino food hack to make your sabaw richer, heartier, and taste just like Lola used to make!
THE HACKS:
🥔 1. Add Gabi Early
Let it simmer with the meat to naturally thicken the sabaw and add a richer flavor.
🧅 2. Sauté Your Tomatoes & Onions First
This brings out a deeper, sweeter taste before adding water.
🔥 3. Don’t Rush the Simmer
Low and slow cooking makes the broth taste more homemade and flavorful.
🍋 4. Add Sampalok Last
For a fresher and brighter asim flavor!
⏳ 5. Let It Rest for 10 Minutes
The flavors blend better after resting—just like leftover adobo magic!
✨ BONUS: Add extra kangkong before serving for that fresh “lutong bahay” feel.
What’s YOUR secret Sinigang hack? 👀👇
📌 Save this post for your next lutong bahay session!

Kwentong Kabayan Ep 4: “Kapag Brownout”
Kapag brownout, biglang nagiging tahimik ang buong bahay.
Walang TV.
Walang electric fan.
Walang kahit anong ingay — kundi yung boses ng pamilya.
“May kandila ba diyan?”
“Nasaan yung flashlight?”
At kahit mainit, kahit madilim…
parang may kakaibang saya.
Naalala niyo pa ba yung ginagawa niyo kapag brownout noon? 👇⚡
