What people say
New American restaurants are known for their innovative and creative approach to classic American cuisine. Cured at Pearl, located in San Antonio, is a prime example of this culinary style. The restaurant is housed in a historic building that once belonged to the Pearl Brewing Company, adding to its charm and character.
What sets Cured at Pearl apart from other New American restaurants is the personal story behind its creation. Chef Steve McHugh, who hails from a small farm in Wisconsin, overcame cancer before opening his own restaurant. This triumph inspired him to create a menu that focuses on natural ingredients and unadulterated cooking methods that promote healing and wellness.
The result is a purposeful and powerful menu that changes seasonally to showcase the best ingredients available. Dishes like Sweet Potato Agnolotti with Bourbon Brown Sugar and Sage demonstrate McHugh's commitment to using ingredients that empower the human body.
But what truly sets Cured at Pearl apart is its artisanal cured meats, which hang in view for all to see. These meats are not just for show; they are an integral part of the menu and add depth and flavor to many dishes.
Overall, Cured at Pearl is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for innovative New American cuisine with a personal touch. Chef Steve McHugh's commitment to natural ingredients and unadulterated cooking methods make this restaurant stand out from the crowd.
