What people say

The Phoenix Saloon in New Braunfels is a historic gem that has been beautifully restored to its former glory. Originally established in 1871, it was the first bar in Texas to serve women and had a unique beer garden with a bell in a tree for service. The saloon's colorful past includes alligator pits, badger fights, and a parrot on a perch inside the front door that would ask patrons if they had paid their bill in German.

After being closed during Prohibition, the building was expanded into its present configuration and turned into a department store. However, after two years of renovation, The Phoenix Saloon rose again as an historic Texas bar, chili parlor and live music venue.

Today, The Phoenix Saloon is known for its delicious food and fantastic live music performances. It has been featured on The Food Network and The Travel Channel's 'Food Paradise' and has won awards such as "Best Bar in New Braunfels" and "Best Live Music Venue". The saloon has hosted some of the best bands around including Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears, Hayes Carll, Jesse Dayton, The Derailers, Alej.

Overall, if you're looking for an unforgettable night out with great food and amazing live music performances then look no further than The Phoenix Saloon!
