In Loving Memory of Sandi Stanford

It is with heavy hearts that the WINGS Board of Directors, the women we serve, our volunteers, team, and professional provider partners extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Sandi Stanford, and to her fellow board members and the entire Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation family.

Sandiโ€™s life was a beautiful testament to what can happen when survivorship becomes service.

After her own breast cancer diagnosis, Sandi began volunteering with the Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation in 1996. She went on to serve on its Board of Directors, as corresponding secretary, and ultimately as Presidentโ€”devoting decades of her life to advocacy, education, and supporting others walking a road she knew personally.

For those of us who work every day in the breast cancer community, we know this work is about far more than organizations or programs. It is about people. It is about women. It is about showing up for one another. Sandi did that for nearly three decades.

Her influence reached beyond titles and boardrooms. It lived in the patients she encouraged, the advocates she befriended, the knowledge she shared, and the countless lives touched because she chose to turn her own experience into a lifetime of service.

To Sandiโ€™s family, her ABCF family, her fellow advocates, colleagues, friends, and all those who loved her: we hold you close in our hearts and prayers.

May you find comfort in knowing that Sandi leaves behind something that cannot be measured simply in yearsโ€”a legacy of compassion, advocacy, friendship, and hope that will continue through the people whose lives she touched.

Rest peacefully, Sandi. Your work mattered. Your life mattered. And your light will remain a part of our breast cancer community for generations to come.

With love, gratitude, and deepest sympathy,
The WINGS Board of Directors, Women We Serve, Volunteers, Team & Professional Provider Partners

Our August Diabetes Program was a wonderful success! ๐Ÿ’—

We had an amazing turnout of WINGS ladies dressed in pink and ready for a morning of education, connection, and community.

A special thank you to the American Diabetes Association for partnering with us to empower our women with valuable tools and information to support their overall health and wellness.

And a big thank you to our wonderful caterer at the San Antonio Woman's Club for helping make the morning extra special with a delicious meal!

Together, we are stronger, healthier, and always learning! ๐Ÿ’•
