Maybe you’ve heard the phrase, when it comes to saving money, “I pinch the whiskers off of Abraham Lincoln’s face.”
I asked for a discount from my provider since I now buy thirty cases of containers about every week. Each case has 500 containers, equaling 15,000 containers total. They took off one penny for each container, resulting in $150.00 discount off of this one purchase.
Many, if not all, would say, “That’s nothing.” But one penny completes the dollar. $999,999.99 isn’t $1,000,000.00 without a penny.
My point is, “Despise not the day(s) of small beginnings.” Sometimes we will feel that we’re not making a difference or that our efforts are minimal. But it all adds up. We have to learn to respect time and process. Take care of your “baby” that requires much time. Love it. Soon enough, it starts growing, just as others have grown.

Some projects will not work out. When new ones come, thank God for another chance, bc it erases the fear of this one not working out. if it doesn’t work out, do it again; bc love never fails-never!

Continuing on to Wednesday, I had six leads covering, Hereford, Dimmitt, Muleshoe and Texico, NM. Time is of essence: picking up product at the warehouse and breaking them up to put into ice chests takes time. Sometimes the product isn’t even pulled. But, I tell myself, it doesn’t mean my day is waisted, it only means the Devine One will show me what He will do when I keep moving forward. That day I set up four restaurants: Tortillería Chihuahua, La Taquería, Taquería Guadalajara and Frida’s.

Tuesday, I drove two hours from Amarillo to Portales, N.M., and Clovis, N.M. to visit five restaurants. Timing was off bc decision makers were not there; except at Mamacita’s. I gave my pitch. Then she called the owner, (mind you, I never give samples until I know they’re serious). When she hangs up and tells me, “Give me 5 of each.” That’s when I ask, “Which ones do you want to taste?…”
Leal’s Mexican Restaurant, also in Clovis, was a VERY promising prospect. They were jam packed with guests. I gave my pitch to the GM and got her interest, but she was too busy to call the owner. I told her I would find a way to come back later in the week. I hated thinking of having to come ALL the way back. But the successful DO what losers are not willing to do.

Monday I hit the ground running. I had six restaurants to visit. Three accepted the program, which consists of offering them to buy as little as they want of each of the desserts to try with their customers, instead of buying a case of twelve of each flavor. I set up the dessert menus on every table to help promote them. Once sold, they buy from the distributor from that point. It’s fair and just; and it works!
