Our sweet nephew, Deets Elry, turned 3! When I asked him what kind of cookies he wanted me to make him he shouted “FIREFIGHTER and WEE WOO!” Deets just adores BFT and loves visiting him at the fire station. Deets’ hero happens to be his Beba (BFT) and we were happy to spend his birthday with him.

Maggie Merle, Kayla, Deets Elry and I spent the weekend celebrating BFT’s birthday! He always does such a beautiful job making us all feel appreciated on ours so we had to take a few days to celebrate his!
BFT is kind, generous, witty, and always there for whatever we want to do. He supports us all and really doesn’t seem to be able to tell us no 🤣. He never brags on himself so we like doing it for him-y’all already know he’s a firefighter/paramedic for SAFD, but he also works in an emergency room, and has taught himself to bake. He will make anything we request and usually does a better job than me! BFT’s patience should be studied. He’d give you his last dollar and make you feel better about having to ask for it. BFT has held us up through the best and worst of times. He shows up for everyone and never expects the same. If you count BFT as a friend, you’re one lucky person!
Happy birthday to my current favorite husband! We love you and already have more shenanigans to drag you along to!

Happy 15th anniversary to my favorite husband! BFT is always ready for whatever concert or road trip we throw at him. He works harder than anyone, both at home and at the FD.
BFT keeps us laughing and never runs out of random things to say. He is genuine, kind and honest. Our daughter and nephew adore him. BFT is always ready to herd the bebes so my sister and I can have a night out.
We knew BFT was different from the start and I’m so grateful my sister introduced us. We’ve gone all over Texas to Oklahoma, New Mexico and Colorado chasing music and spending time with our friends. Princess treatment is the standard with BFT-not just for me, but any female. We give him a hard time, we laugh all the time and the best part is you always feel loved and appreciated with BFT. I can’t imagine being the kind of person who doesn’t appreciate him as well because you’re missing out on a good man.
While he is always ready to joke, he will be the first person to be by your side in a tragedy, looking for any way he can to support you.
Marriage isn’t work when you’re having fun and match so well.
I love you BFT. Happy anniversary and congrats to us for making this life what we want it to be.

These last few weeks…no, the last ten years have been heavy. This administration and its leader are destroying us. I have never and will never keep my opinions, beliefs etc to myself. Those of you who think I should can kiss my ass and see yourself out.
We are in precedented times. And I say that because those of us who are capable of critical thinking have seen this coming (thanks in part to the motives of this administration and its planners-project 2025).
We have spoken out and warned for years, all while being told we were overreacting. Are we reaching now that innocent children are being stolen off the streets? Are we exaggerating now that innocent people are being executed at point blank range? These masked thugs are hoping to murder those that oppose them. They aren’t afraid of repercussions.
You may come to this page and give me your privileged old white lady rants and bu****it. In the past, I’d have ignored you or tried to find a nice way to respond. That time is over.

I think often of something Fannie Lou Hamer said “Nobody’s free until everybody is free”. Every person deserves the right to a free life, healthcare, and civil rights.
The current administration is on a mission that mimics the actions and plans of another administration also run by a mediocre madman who blamed anyone different from him for his failings and lack of success.
We stand with our brothers and sisters being persecuted and unjustly kidnapped, imprisoned and murdered. The promise of the American dream is one that seems like a cruel joke now, dangled above the heads of those who have now been deemed unworthy by the current administration.
If you have ever wondered what you would have done during historic times of strife, your silence now speaks volumes.
