Looking for some FREE and FUN Mental Health relief?? Well here's your sign ⤵️⤵️

We have very empty slots for volunteers every day in June and we need your help!

Our volunteer sign up site is Www.petrisplacetoo.com - there are openings every day! Literally....we need so much help!

If there is time you can spare, please sign up, bring a friend, a neighbor...we have tasks that do and don't require animal handling.

If there is time you have that is not listed, message me and we can make arrangements if we can!

(Please remember, all bodies on site must be 16 years of age and older. We do not have childcare and under 16 cannot enter animal areas.)

We are a nonprofit organization and can sign for your community service hours if needed for school, court, employer...or whatever!

Hey folks! I know a lot of y'all are members of the local LGBTQ community and if you are not a member, then many of you are allies. The Pride Center, which does SO MUCH for our community (including providing a space for groups such as BISAN: Bisexual San Antonio Network to gather in), has recently had a major stumble. The lease on their space was not renewed, and they have to be out by the end of June, which many of you know is Pride Month. A real kick to the gut and the timing couldn't be worse.

They have a new temporary location lined up, but they DO need help. Please consider donating - if you can do the $15 for 15 months, that's outstanding. If you can do more or less, that's great too. If you can only make a one-time donation, every dollar helps. Please step up at this crucial moment.

📚 BOOK DRIVE FOR THRIVE YOUTH CENTER 📚
Help THE STRIP COLLECTIVE build a library of hope for the LGBTQ+ youth, of Thrive starting this January!

The San Antonio Q***r Collective, the Strip Collective, the Wetty Collective, and The Write Spot are partnering to collect books for the Thrive Youth Center Emergency Shelter — San Antonio’s only emergency shelter specifically serving LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness.

WHY THIS MATTERS:
LGBTQ+ youth face a 120% higher risk of homelessness than their peers and make up 40% of all youth experiencing homelessness, despite being only 7% of the youth population. Many arrive at Thrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs after being rejected by family or fleeing unsafe situations.

Books provide comfort, escape, education, and empowerment during the most difficult times. Your donations will help stock Thrive’s emergency shelter library, giving young people ages 18-24 access to stories, knowledge, and hope while they rebuild their lives.
WHAT TO DONATE:
• YA fiction & graphic novels
• Books on life skills, career development, & education
• LGBTQ+ themed books & memoirs
• Self-help & mental wellness books
• Children’s books (for young parents)
• New or gently used books in good condition

VelocityTX is hosting a clothing drive to support our Eastside neighbors during January—when many of us are already cleaning out closets.

Gently used, clean clothing is appreciated. Everyday wear and seasonal items can make a real difference for people in our community. All donations will benefit the clothing closet at Bethel AME.
