The malted milkshake was born in 1922. That’s 104 years ago!
That year, a soda fountain employee dropped ice cream into a malted milk drink and, without realizing it, created the version we still order a century later.

As the story goes, in 1893 a Colorado man looked at a snow-capped peak, thought it resembled ice cream floating in soda, and dropped a scoop into his root beer. The rest is dessert history!
