As part of our 45th Anniversary celebration, we’ve been asking guests to share their favorite Alamo Cafe memories. This story from Nici touched our hearts.

“My youngest son, Braden, absolutely loved Alamo Cafe. He would eat a large bowl of queso with lots of flour tortillas. To make me feel better, he would eat one beef fajita taco... with more queso on top! It was all about the queso!”

After Braden passed away at just 21 years old, his family honored him with three of his favorite foods at his Celebration of Life: Chick-fil-A nuggets, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and Alamo Cafe queso.

Today, his family continues to celebrate his earthly birthday and heavenly birthday at Alamo Cafe each year.

Thank you, Nici, for sharing Braden’s story with us.

As we celebrate Alamo Cafe’s 45th Anniversary, we’ve been asking our guests to share their favorite “Alamo Stories” with us.

One of our first submissions came from Jennifer, who has been making memories with us for nearly her entire life.

“Alamo Cafe has been part of nearly every version of me — the little girl throwing pennies into the water, the teenager dreaming about the future, the young mother raising two boys, the woman rebuilding her life, and now the woman I am today.”

And this might be our favorite line:
“My two sons have developed what appears to be a sophisticated ‘Big Chip Rotation System’ that is discussed and negotiated in the car before we even arrive.”

Thank you, Jennifer, for sharing your beautiful story and photos with us. ❤️
